About Pins & Needles Art Quilyting

The Pins & Needles Art Quilters group is a neighborhood circle formed from members of River City Quilter’s Guild. We meet once a month to exchange information about art quilts, to share and critique our work, to pursue exhibitions and competitions, and publishing options. We currently have over twenty dedicated members from varied backgrounds. We challenge our group monthly to try new techniques, or themes, to explore mixed media options, and to share new discoveries.

Our group’s work is regularly shown at the River City Quilter’s Guild annual show in Sacramento, California. Our members’ work has also been shown at several national and international shows, as well as in local venues.

Sacramento Skyline Quilt in the Crocker Art Museum

Lori Wisheropp has secured another placement for our Sacramento Skyline Quilt at the Crocker Art Museum
Our quilt was accepted because it was created by our neighborhood circle, Pins & Needles, and depicts the region.

Abstracts in Fiber and Paint

I apologize for the wonky pictures, as it was very crowded (a good thing), but it was difficult to get a good angle. So many people enjoying the work.

The Gallery at 48 Natoma Abstracts in Fiber and Paint Show

An amazing showing of what can be done with fiber and thread and embellishments.  The main gallery held works by Joan Dyer.

The Community Gallery displayed works from Quartz and members of the Folsom Quilt and Fiber Guild. Several pieces are by our own Pins and Needles Art Quilting group.

White Lines

A great challenge. Create a six-inch black square with only one white line, the line must start and end on an edge. We had great fun linking them up as a continuous line.

These were displayed at the Sacramento Fine Arts Center Gallery as an interactive work. Viewers were encouraged to move the squares on the display board.

Quiltations

We were challenged to create a quilt based on a quotation.
