About Pins & Needles Art Quilyting

The Pins & Needles Art Quilters group is a neighborhood circle formed from members of River City Quilter’s Guild. We meet once a month to exchange information about art quilts, to share and critique our work, to pursue exhibitions and competitions, and publishing options. We currently have over twenty dedicated members from varied backgrounds. We challenge our group monthly to try new techniques, or themes, to explore mixed media options, and to share new discoveries.

Our group’s work is regularly shown at the River City Quilter’s Guild annual show in Sacramento, California. Our members’ work has also been shown at several national and international shows, as well as in local venues.

Show and Tell
Recent pieces in progress or finished

Elizabeth McInnis finished her Log Cabin quilt, a miniature block on a blank field.
Denise Schmidt made this floating apple quilt on a quilt.

Kari Bauer recently did these two watercolors.

Sheila Green created this origami quilt-on-quilt for the Foothills Guild Quilt Show.

Joy Valenton created the above pieces long-distance with her over-90 Father. She sent the fabric squares, he painted the art and sent them back. Joy experimented with various edge finishes and quilted them. They will be given to an organization as a fundraiser.

Michele Morrison did this at a Wine and Painting class.

Helen Burke brought her finished Log Cabin Challenge piece.

Sandra Torguson brought another art book. It has six fold-out pages on the theme "Spirit."
